Post-Menopause Vaginal Rejuvenation

The Body's Changes During Menopausal

During and after menopause, the body goes through a significant drop in the production of estrogen, which is often the cause of many of the common symptoms of menopause. Aside from the more discussed menopause symptoms such as hot flushes and mood changes, symptoms affecting the vagina are not as openly discussed but are very much in existence for women who are experiencing menopause.

When oestrogen production decreases, changes can occur in the body, including problems related to the genitourinary system, affecting over half of menopausal and postmenopausal women. Genitourinary symptoms of menopause (also known as GSM) can cause a range of symptoms, such as:

  • A lowered libido and decreased sex drive

  • Difficulty becoming physically aroused

  • An increase in urgency to urinate

  • Stress incontinence (leaking when you laugh, run, sneeze)

  • Vaginal dryness

  • Pain or discomfort during sex

  • Loss of sensitivity in the vagina, labia, clitoris

  • More frequent urinary tract/yeast/bacterial infections

These physical changes to the body and in particular the intimate area being affected by GSM can create challenges in a woman’s sex life and lead to troubling emotional problems, even starting to affect their intimate relationships.

Many women feel either embarrassed to seek help, or believe there is nothing that can be done and that this change of life is something to live with. Thankfully Ultra Femme 360™ offers a solution to many of these unhappy issues.

Vaginal Atrophy (dryness) and Laxity (looseness)

As a woman’s body ages and changes, the loss of collagen fibres makes vaginal skin and other tissues thinner. During menopause, oestrogen production diminishes. As this hormone is related to the growth, maintenance, and repair of the vaginal tissues, a lowering in the hormone can lead to more lax vaginal tissue and structure.

Other unpleasant issues can arise such as vaginal dryness (atrophy) which can make sex difficult or even impossible for some, with lack of lubrication, very little sensation during intercourse, or even pain.

This in turn can have a huge impact on relationships and a woman’s confidence in her own anatomy and sense of self.

By treating vaginal laxity with Ultra Femme 360™, improving blood flow to the vaginal walls and tissues, collagen stimulation and improvement to skin quality and function, improvements can be seen in vaginal laxity & atrophy, making a huge impact on women in their sexual and personal lives.

Stress Incontinence After Menopause

During menopause, women’s bodies can undergo significant changes. One of these changes can be stress or urge incontinence, which can be a difficult and distressing part of this significant life change.

Weakening of the pelvic floor and increased vaginal laxity are usually associated with, and contribute to, stress incontinence after menopause. Reduced levels of oestrogen starting around menopause can cause thinning of the lining of the urethra, the short tube that passes urine from the bladder out of the body. The surrounding pelvic muscles also may weaken with ageing, a process known as "pelvic relaxation”.

Thinning of vaginal tissue and slower tissue regeneration can also occur, resulting in added issues for women such as vaginal dryness and increased vaginal laxity. As pelvic relaxation and vaginal laxity increases, women around menopause and beyond are at increased risk for urinary incontinence, or the involuntary leakage of urine, affecting daily life activities (such as running, coughing, laughing), increased urgency to go to the loo and often affecting sexual confidence.

Although urinary incontinence is common during perimenopause and beyond, it’s not an inevitable result of aging and isn’t something we should just ‘learn to live with’. Ultra Femme 360™ can provide significant improvement to these difficult symptoms.

Aesthetic Concerns

As we age and begin to see the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in our face and other areas of our bodies, the intimate area goes through the same process - collagen production slows down which causes skin to loosen and sag, and as estrogen production and collagen diminish during menopause, women can lose confidence in the appearance or feel of their intimate area too.

Even though this is a natural process, it can have a major impact on the sex life of menopausal and post-menopausal women but does not have to, thanks to Ultra Femme 360™ and its ability to tighten and lift loose skin.

What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

The term ‘vaginal rejuvenation’ has until now, often been associated with labiaplasty or vaginaplasty – surgical procedures which are painful, high risk, frightening and involve long recovery times.

Vaginal rejuvenation with Ultra Femme 360™ however, is a completely different alternative. With just 3 treatments of painless, radiofrequency treatment, each only 8 minutes long, patients experience vaginal rejuvenation with improvements vaginal canal, tissue and skin quality.

Post-Menopause Rejuvenation with Ultra Femme 360™

Ultra Femme 360™ is the only radiofrequency device on the market that treats internal vaginal tissue a full 360° during each treatment session. Through radiofrequency waves, Ultra Femme 360™ stimulates the body’s natural healing processes, regenerating new tissue in the internal and external areas of the vagina and genitourinary system.

The toning and tightening effect on vaginal tissue has a tightening effect on the vaginal canal and vulva, strengthening and restoring structure. This can be felt by patients very soon after treatment and can improve sexual experience for both partners.

With an improvement to vaginal tissue and skin, patients experience much increased sensitivity to the vulva and vaginal area, due to a stimulation and blood flow and production in collagen. These effects can help to resolve vaginal atrophy and laxity and even tighten and lift the labia. The impact of these improvements can result in an enjoyed sexual experience and confidence and a sense of 'getting yourself back' for many women.
